Zodiac-whacky, the February edition

I'm continuing to mourn that Laurie at Crazy Aunt Purl has stopped her funny horroscopes. While she is still funny enough to make to cry, those darned horoscopes were the reason I started reading her to begin with. And she, like me, is a crabby-crab.

I have two other astrologers who send me their wisdom now. The first is Phyllis Firak-Mitz who Laurie used for a while as her surrogate. Not bad as an astrologer, but not nearly as funny.

I was struck this month with the quote she used to introduce Cancer:

Cancers recognize the potential inherent in situations...they “sense” opportunities that might be quite subtle or hidden. Cancer’s sensitivity gives them an alliance with women. It gives them the edge in female-related businesses.” P.110

She went to tell me:

RELATIONSHIPS are where the action is for you all through 2008, this February included. Lucky Jupiter and Magnetic Venus are working on your behalf to draw fascinating and life-changing people into your sphere. You can move into new circles now, Cancer, ones that expose you to a bigger, more impressive world than you’re used to. These planets can also take your current relationships to the next level.

If you want to get engaged, married, or simply connect with an outstanding business partner this could be your year! That said, this could also be the year that you finally have the gumption to dump a relationship that just doesn’t work, even if it means bringing legal proceedings. Whatever your destiny holds, shifts in partnerships are part of it.

Now Phyllis is nice and all, but KT, the astrologer at BlogHer doesn't do a monthly prediction. She gives a look at the year and a daily. Let's see if there is anything key in the year for February:

Regarding money matters, three separate eclipses in February and August will affect your finances. Don't worry! This doesn't mean you'll lose all your cash and valuables, but it does indicate that your concern for these resources will peak at these times. Given your emotional nature, these months could be quite a roller coaster ride. Make it a point not to act in a panic. Wait until you're calm and your usual shrewd perspective returns.

Great! The market is on a roller-coaster ride.. no wonder I'm concerned about my finances. I will not panic and sell off all my stocks...

The Stars Say... Change and Challenges in 2008

I'm not even sure HOW to react to these two astrologicial forecasts for this year. Excited? Scared? What's Astrology Know Anyway? I'm abbreviating these, keeping the links so I can check back, and posting the most "interesting" stuff here.

BTW, KT is the one who last year said that my year would be focused on fitness and diet. She called it right, then. When I read what she said about this year, I was both excited and scared shitless!

And for 2008 she says:

Big changes loom for Cancer in relationships and resources. It's out with the old and in with the new. Remember, not all change is painful!

Your life can easily get “bigger” as significant opportunities, impressive relationships and spectacular trips are among the exciting activities Jupiter might bring you. Sure you might have to “leave home” in some way or another in order to enjoy your coming bounty, but it’ll be worth it!

I swear I read a longer 2008 forecast from her, but darned if I can find it. Still both make it sound like it's going to be an interesting year this year. Stayed tuned for details.

Zodiak-Wacky: December

Phyllis Firak-Mitz has presented me me with yet another interesting monthly prediction:

Cancer (June 22nd – July 22nd)
“Most Cancers don’t recover well from brazen fights. They can be deeply wounded and sent into hiding in their shells indefinitely. Sidestep heated rages and instead express the deeper feeling underneath your anger. When Cancer understands you’re feeling misery or vulnerability they’ll rise to the occasion and start comforting you.” p. 95

YOU: This December is about YOU: You and your image, You and your Relationships, You and your Work. Even if those around you seem more important or dominant, You are still in the driver’s seat. So keep standing up for yourself and asserting your preferences. And remember: a little negotiation never hurt anybody. Look for win-wins.

YOUR IMAGE is still transforming as Mars retrograding in your sign encourages you to express even more of your personal power. It’s an excellent time for self- promotion and taking more risks with your physical image. Let your sex appeal and confidence shine! Mars can also help you elevate your social image, as it supports your being assertive and proactive. Moons, New and Full

I regularly check out the predictions for the New and Full Moon at Lisa Miller's website: astrowisdom.com. I think I found the link from Julie. I am forever thankful.

There was a New Moon this past Tuesday (4/17). I just read about this (hey, I was buried in my workshop) and find the information quite interesting. Starting about 2 days before this moon and continuing still, I have this overwhelming sense of loss/mourning and find myself crying at the drop of a hat.

The description of this New Moon is part:

Because Aries is the youngest of the signs, this is the New Moon for fresh starts, turning over a new leaf or starting a new phase. Aries represents the inner child; that amazingly trusting, innocent soul that lives within each of us. Even in the worst of times, it is important to be aware of the ever-present humor that exists in the darkest moments of our lives. After all, the greatest comedy does arise from the deepest tragedies.

Maybe this sense of mourning is for past.. it's finally saying goodbye to habits, thoughts and beliefs that I've held on to that aren't working anymore. It's an end and a beginning.

Later, she writes:

If your life is in upheaval, this is the best time to set your intention and make change happen your way. The New Moon in Aries is the best time to create a ritual for figuring out exactly what you want; no matter how hard the solution, no matter the amount of despair and hopelessness. Renewal is a matter of changing our perspective to include the magical and imaginative realms of possibility; especially with Sun/Moon/Mercury in impulsive, quick-minded Aries, Uranus and Mars in imaginative Pisces, Venus in all possibilities Gemini, and Jupiter in generous and hopeful Sagittarius. These planetary placements will make it possible to dive back into a childlike world where if it can be thought, it can be made to happen.

Ok... Set my intentions and change my perspective. Hmm.. seems like this is the message I've been getting all year. Right??
